Enhancing Accessibility and Sustainability Through Innovation

Sidhartha Pathi and Sathwik Reddy, B.Des(Hons.) - Product Design students at Woxsen University, have made significant contributions to the 'my UDAAN' project at IIT, Hyderabad. As part of their two-month summer internship, they played a pivotal role in designing VGO, an ergonomic and battery-powered clip-on device that transforms a standard wheelchair into a safe electric three-wheeler. This innovation addresses both mobility and environmental concerns by offering a fully electric solution that can be charged at dedicated docking stations, enabling users to commute efficiently within various environments such as shopping malls, airports, and metros.

With its unique features including a powerful VLDC motor, smart LFP battery, easy attachment and detachment, geo-fencing, and real-time GPS tracking, VGO is poised to revolutionize the motorized wheelchair category and enhance accessibility for users with mobility challenges.
