July 26, 2024 @ T-Works, Hyderabad
At Woxsen University's School of Arts & Design, we believe in the power of collaboration between academia and industry to drive innovation and knowledge sharing. We're excited to share a recent initiative where our academic team contributed their expertise to the industry through a hands-on workshop on Low Fidelity Prototyping (LFP).
This workshop was conducted for a 12-member cohort from TiE Nizamabad at T-Works, India's largest prototyping centre. The session was led by our talented faculty members Mrudul Shyam, Santosh Kocherlakota, and Shivaram Reddy. Their combined expertise brought a wealth of knowledge to the workshop, focusing on the importance of LFP in the product development process.
During the 2-hour session, participants were introduced to the principles of Low Fidelity Prototyping, a crucial step in product design that allows for quick and cost-effective iteration. The workshop emphasized the value of using everyday materials to create rapid prototypes of furniture and spaces, enabling participants to visualize and refine their ideas without the need for high-end tools or materials.
The designs created by the participants were incredibly innovative, showcasing their ability to think creatively and apply the principles learned during the workshop. The engagement level was high, with participants actively involved in the hands-on activities, demonstrating the effectiveness of LFP in bringing ideas to life.
We are grateful to T-Works for providing this wonderful opportunity to collaborate and contribute to the industry. Such initiatives highlight the importance of bridging the gap between academia and industry, allowing for a fruitful exchange of knowledge and ideas.
The School of Arts & Design at Woxsen University is committed to fostering more such enriching engagements in the future. We believe that by working closely with industry partners, we can continue to enhance our educational offerings, empower our students, and contribute to the growth and innovation of the design industry.
A special thanks to Joginder Tanikella, Krishna Teja Garapati, and Tejaswini Kidambi for their support and contributions to making this workshop a success. We look forward to many more such collaborations that bridge knowledge and innovation.
