Woxsen University's Department of Fashion Design proudly presented the FTSC 2023 International Conference, a groundbreaking event exploring the transformative power of fashion in driving social progress. Themed 'Cultural Preservation and Innovation,' the conference convened global delegates for enlightening discussions on the profound intersections of fashion, culture, and societal advancement.
Day 1 commenced with a series of thought-provoking keynote speeches. Prof. Margaret Bishop from Parsons School of Design - The New School, USA, shed light on "The role of fashion in promoting environmental sustainability," followed by Nitin Kapoor's insights on "Fashion Technology & Sustainability" and Dr. Stephen C. Patton's exploration of "Couture Cognition: Cracking the Code of Informed Fashion."
A panel discussion on "Diversity and Inclusion in the Fashion Industry," moderated by Prof. Sanjay Guria, featured esteemed panelists addressing crucial issues in the field.
Day 2 delved into topics of importance, with a focus on marginalized communities in fashion. Discussions on "The representation of marginalized communities in fashion" and "Holism in Fashion Education - Self-preservation and Inclusion" offered valuable insights and perspectives.
The conference concluded on a high note with the release of Mr. Puneesh Lamba's book, "Disruptive Siege - A Guide to using digital tech for disrupting business models," providing a comprehensive guide for leveraging digital technology in the luxury retail sector.
Kudos to the organizing team led by Mr. Rajesh Kumar, Assistant Professor and Program Director, and Dr. Sadhna, along with Assistant Professors Vishakha Rao, Anthima Ram, Ashutosh Kumar, and Sreeraghavi Mani, for their dedication in facilitating robust discussions and fostering future collaborations and innovations.
