Indo-American Collaboration Unleashes a Fusion of Rage and Resilience
Our School of Arts & Design's Communication Design student Siddharth Ponangi, known artistically as Alpha Hex, spearheads an electrifying collaboration with producers S!D and Anixto, alongside San Diego-based artist Faithroze, for their latest single, "Watch Me Cry." Originating from a demo shared on Discord two years ago by S!D, this project marks a pivotal moment in Ponangi's musical journey. With Faithroze's dynamic vocals guiding the track's evolution from quiet anger to powerful intensity, "Watch Me Cry" emerges as a fusion of trap and bass elements, delivering an anthem of resilience amidst adversity.
Describing the track as the "anthem of our villain arc," Ponangi, alongside lyricist Lena Luisa and collaborator Anixto, infuses the song with themes of strength and renewal. Despite initial concerns about creative space, Anixto finds synergy with Ponangi, S!D, and Faithroze, resulting in a final version that seamlessly integrates their talents and ideas. With Faithroze's vocals perfectly complementing the lyrics and instrumental, "Watch Me Cry" stands as a testament to the collective creativity and vision of its collaborators, exemplifying the innovative spirit fostered within our School of Arts & Design.
